My favorite oils for meditation

Today I have 4 essential oils for you. And they are the 4 that I enjoy using the most during meditation, both during my personal practice and during my classes.

During my classes I tend to diffuse the essential oils in a diffuser but for my personal practice I tend to just put a drop or 2 on a little piece of wood and put that in front of me. Massaging a diluted essential oil onto your wrists or neck can be really nice too.

To benefit from essential oils during meditation you really don't need much. You don't want the scent to be too overwhelming but keep it subtile so it gives you just that little bit to help you get deeper into your meditation.

Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) is one of my favorites. It is also the essential oil that in general is the best know as a meditation oil. event though frankincense is great during the entire day I prefere to use it in the morning. The scent is not too pungent but it is enough to ease you into waking up and start your day grounded.

Lavendel (Lavandula angustifolia) is another great option. It it has a soothing and relaxing effect and because of it is perfect for a eveningmeditation or in periods where you are really busy and need to relax.

Joy is a blend by Young Living. It has a pleasant warm, flowery scent with something fruity in it. It is a blend with ylang ylang (Cananga odorata), geranium (Pelargonium graveolens), jasmine (Jasminum officinale), palmarosa (Cymbopogon martini), rose (Rosa damascene), bergamot (Citrus aurantium bergamia), lemon (Citrus limon), coriander (Coriandrum sativum), roman chamomile (Anthemis nobilis) and mandarin (Citrus reticulata). Like the name suggests this oil has an uplifiting effect, I always get happy just smelling the oil. The essential oil blend also works great in combination with lemon or bergamot if you want to give it a little something extra.

Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) is a lovely uplifting scent too. When I don't feel like the sweetness of Joy I like to use bergamot. If I had to point out a scent to represent the sun, the warm and cheerful light it would be bergamot.

So there you have it, 4 of my favorite essential oils for meditation. Goodluck with the next steps on your bridge. I wish you all the happiness and an amazing day.

❤ Eva
